Institutional Sexual Abuse: Music and Art Programs
The lives of millions of children across the country are enriched by their participation in youth sports, music, and art programs. Research shows that young people who are involved in organized sports benefit from a range of physical, emotional, and interpersonal benefits. Early exposure to the arts helps children become more engaged in school and their communities. Music lessons have been shown to improve grades and test scores.
With all these advantages, it’s no wonder that parents trust their children to the many organizations and companies that run youth sports, music, and art programs. But sadly, adults involved in these programs have violated this trust on numerous occasions. Sexual abuse is unfortunately very common in organized sports leagues and is a growing concern in music and arts programs.
If your child is showing signs of sexual abuse or molestation in a youth sporting organization, music program, or arts program, the child sexual assault lawyers at Estey & Bomberger may be able to help. We represent victims of sexual abuse in civil lawsuits against the institutions where the abuse took place.
