Oklahoma Teacher Arrested on Charges of Soliciting Sex with Young Boy on Craigslist

NORMAN, OKLAHOMA – Joseph Leon Love, 25, an 8^th grade Language Arts teacher at Longfellow Middle School in Norman, was arrested Monday, August 10^th following an investigation and sting involving a Craigslist ad and an undercover officer. According to multiple news reports, the undercover police officer began communicating with Love after seeing an ad he allegedly put up on Craigslist that read: “Any dads like to perv over their young sons, let’s talk. I want to talk to any real dads out there who have sons and like to think pervy thoughts about them. Let’s have some hot chat.” Over the course of several weeks, the undercover officer – claiming to be the father of a 9-year-old boy – communicated with Love. Eventually, Love asked to meet up with the undercover officer for the purpose of having sex with the nine-year-old boy. When Love arrived at the meeting, he was arrested and booked into the Canadian County Jail for attempted lewd acts with a child under 16, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of child pornography, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently out on bond. Love has resigned from his teaching position.
