Frank Selas, aka Frank Szeles, Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges
A San Diego area resident, living as a fugitive and with an alias, is facing child sexual abuse charges for allegedly molesting young children in Louisiana during a camping 37 years ago. For the last 30 years Frank John Selas apparently had been living in the San Diego area under the last name of Szeles.
Frank Selas, also known as Frank Szeles, was a former Louisiana television personality and host of the Mr. Wonder show. He used his name recognition in 1979 to promote a camping trip for young children, then fled the state and ultimately the country when parents began complaining that he had abused kids on that camping trip.
Reports state that Frank Selas (Frank Szeles) returned to the US and lived in San Diego starting in 1985. He served as a PTA President of Ella B. Allen and Valley Vista Elementary Schools in Bonita along with serving as a teacher, soccer coach, and Cub Scout Troop leader until 2012.
Media reports state that Frank Szeles (Frank Selas) was removed from the San Diego area Boy Scouts program for “non-compliance with youth protection policies and procedures.”
