David Robert Freeman, 34, a teacher at Union Mine High School, was arrested in January 2012 on suspicion of statutory rape of a 17-year-old student. Freeman plead no contest to nine counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who was more than three years younger and four counts of orally copulating a minor. In December 2013, the court sentenced Freeman to three years and eight months in prison and ordered him to register as a sex offender. News Source: Mountain Democrat
