New York Teacher Arrested for Sexting Student

ALBANY COUNTY, NY – Patrick Cannliff, a high school science teacher and baseball coach at Watervliet High School, was arrested and has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police say he sent a 16-year-old female student a picture of himself in his underwear. According to WNYT news, Cannliff resigned on Friday during a special board of education meeting. Cannliff was arraigned Tuesday morning and released on his own recognizance. In a letter to parents, Superintendent Lori Caplan said she was “stunned and deeply upset” by the allegations involving Cannliff.
