NATCHEZ, MS – First Grade Teacher Arrested on Sex Charge
Stephanie Adams, 39, a first-grade teacher at Adams County Christian School, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of gratification of lust with a minor. Police said a parent contacted them after discovering several inappropriate text messages on her daughter’s iPhone. An arrest warrant was issued after investigators spoke to Adams, the teenager, and a witness. Bond was set at $25,000. Read more here:
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Former Teacher Sentenced on Sex Assault Charges
Jaclyn Melillo, 25, of Sayreville, NJ, a former English teacher at Sayreville War Memorial High School, was sentenced to four years in state prison Monday, after pleading guilty earlier this year to two counts of sexual assault on two 16-year-old male students. She also forfeited her teaching certificate, will have to register as a sex offender, and will be on lifetime parole supervision after she is released from prison. Read more here:
HANOVER, PA – Trial Begins in Institutional Sexual Assault Case
Opening statements Tuesday marked the beginning of the trial for Edward Evans, 34, a social studies teacher at Hanover Area Junior/Senior High School. Evans has been charged with two counts of institutional sexual assault in connection with a March 2013 incident with an 18-year-old boy. Read more here:
MILLBURN, NJ – School District Custodian Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges
Andrew J. Reilly, 28 of Union, NJ, was arrested July 15th after a police investigation. Police allege that Reilly exposed himself to a child on three occasions while employeed as a custodian for the Millburn Board of Education. He was taken into custody and later transferred to the Essex County Correctional Facility. Read more here:
